  Fostering future talent with the volunteer group that consists of employees and college students

CJ OliveNetworks' main social responsibility program "CJ SW Creative Camp" won the Prime Minister's Award at the "2025 Science and Information Technology Day" ceremony jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Communications and the Korea Communications Commission.

The awards recognize individuals or organizations who contributed to the development of the information, broadcasting, and communications field. The winning was the result of CJ SW Creative Camp's various social contributions, such as ▲ discovering digital blind spots and closing the education gap ▲ fostering IT talent through high-quality AI and software education and ▲ strengthening digital accessibility based on new technologies such as AI. 

CJ SW Creative Camp is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program that CJ OliveNetworks has been running since 2015 to bridge the gap in digital education for the youth. Based on the company’s IT expertise, the program helps children and teens to develop logical thinking skills by experiencing software in an easy and fun way.

For the past 10 years, the company’s employees and college students volunteered as instructors and provided high-quality AI and software education to about 14,700 children and teens to help them grow into AI creative convergence talent. The program that started in Seoul and the metropolitan area gradually expanded to more than 10 regions nationwide, including Gangwon, Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk, and Jeju, providing educational opportunities to digitally marginalized children who live in rural areas, are from low-income households or multicultural families.

CJ OliveNetworks is continuously improving the program to "narrow the education gap in the digitally marginalized areas" and "nurture future talent through sustainable AI and SW education." The program goes beyond simple software education. It helps students to develop problem-solving skills and capability as future ICT talent through project-like classes that they learn to solve ESG issues by coding.

In addition, it introduced a hands-on curriculum that reflects the latest IT trends such as GenAI, big data, and machine learning to provide practical and realistic education that meets the changing industrial environment.

With most of its employees working in IT-related jobs, CJ OliveNetworks has been actively participating in the entire process from planning social responsibility programs to education services based on its expertise, taking the lead in creating a healthy ecosystem for software education.

Last year, the company launched a new offline program called “SW School Attack,” in which some employees visit schools and institutions to provide education. About 300 children from multicultural or low-income families have received the IT education through the program. The company also offers a structured 15-week training in connection with the free school year program of the Ministry of Education and holds hackathons and idea contests to spread sustainable social values.
