To improve energy efficiency within the IDC, CJ OliveNetworks is carrying out management activities to prevent IT equipment and servers in management blind spots from being left unattended. We reduce indirect greenhouse gas emissions by periodically selecting abandoned and unused equipment and servers and turning them off.

CJ OliveNetworks manages energy efficiency by continuously replacing old infrastructure. We are reducing indirect greenhouse gas emissions by reducing energy loss through replacement of old transformers with high-efficiency transformers and improving the energy efficiency of existing equipment through overhaul work of cooling towers and generators.

CJ OliveNetworks is carrying out a project to build rooftop solar power generation facilities in Vietnam based on DT technology. In 2022, we won a contract to build rooftop solar power facilities at eight business sites in Vietnam. In recognition of these business capabilities and environmental impact, we received the "Best C&I EPC Service" Award and the "Best C&I Green Energy Project" Award from Solar Quarter, an Asian environmental technology media outlet, at the end of 2022.

Starting in 2023, we are expanding the carbon emission reduction effect by building solar power generation facilities through local factories of CJ affiliates in Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar, and through external orders.

CJ OliveNetworks controls energy usage by monitoring the energy use status within the factory, including utilities and production facilities, in real time through AI factory solutions and suggests ways to improve energy use efficiency by utilizing facility efficiency statistics

In addition, through real-time analyses of energy consumption rate compared to production, we calculate the energy consumption cost per unit product to optimize energy consumption/production and enable reduction of consumption rate

CJ OliveNetworks monitors power, temperature, and odor data within customers’ workplaces through environmental safety solutions. And we prevent environmental accidents by sending notifications when data exceeds threshold values through fire monitoring systems and temperature monitoring systems.

In addition, we measure the pollution level of factory and septic tank wastewater through a TOC analyzer, use a water quality TOC solution to manage processed tap water, and measure and analyze air pollutants emitted from business chimneys. And we support management of environmental data and compliance with environmental laws and regulations through standby TOC solutions that link to the Ministry of Environment's reporting system.

When evaluating suppliers, CJ OliveNetworks plans to encourage eco-friendly management within the supply chain by giving additional points to suppliers that have obtained eco-friendly certification.

CJ OliveNetworks complies with environmental laws and regulations such as the Air Quality Conservation Act, Water Environment Conservation Act, Waste Management Act, and Noise and Vibration Management Act. / We plan to manage environmental impacts through continuous management of the list of environmental laws and compliance with laws and regulations.

CJ OliveNetworks regularly visits Hangang Park to engage in plogging activities for its employees as part of its One Company, One River conservation initiative. By picking up cigarette butts and trash discarded in Hangang Park, we are preventing microplastics from flowing into the Han River and reflecting on the importance of proper waste separation, collection, and discharge.

CJ OliveNetworks encourages the use of personal tumblers when using the company cafe to reduce the use of disposable paper cups and participate in environmental protection. We include a mug in the welcome kit for new employees and encourage them to use their own cups to drink bottled water.

CJ OliveNetworks conducts regular environmental education for employees to understand global environmental issues such as global warming and decline of tropical rainforest and to participate in environmental protection activities.
