[CJ OliveNetworks= March 19, 2018 (Monday)] On March 13 (Tuesday), CJ OliveNetworks signed a partnership contract for the supply of solutions with SES-imagotag (www.ses-imagotag.com), the world’s top ESL solution group.

SES-imagotag, a French distribution Internet of Things (IoT) group, provides over 160 million ESL tags to 14,000 stores of over 30 distribution chains in 55 countries worldwide. It is also the world’s top company in the ESL field with 54% global market share. The quality of its solutions has been highly evaluated as it operates R&D centers in France, Austria, and Taiwan, among others. Moreover, they offer various solutions that can be connected to high-quality panels.

Having signed the partnership contract, CJ OliveNetworks plans to fully advance into the ESL market, build competitiveness capable of exclusively supplying SES-imagotag solutions at reasonable prices in Korea, and effectively support store management.

In addition, as ESL enables consumers who visit off-line stores to access online shopping information easily beyond simply providing replacements for paper shelf labels with electronic ones, CJ OliveNetworks plans to expand use of ESL to key O2O solution to offer online shopping experience in offline stores.

In September and December of last year, CJ OliveNetworks test-applied the solution in Olive Young stores at Gangnam and Myeong-dong. Paper shelf labels were replaced with electronic ones to supplement their disadvantages and enhance the efficiency of the stores’ management.

“We are pleased that we have come to partner with SES-imagotag to cooperate and share technology and expertise, as well as enjoy synergistic effects,” said Kim Gyeong-won, the head of Retail Platform Business Team in CJ Olive Networks. “We plan to use ESL as a solution to effectively respond to smart stores, such as providing big data-based promotions or consumer interactive services in the future,” he added.

Meanwhile, ESL is an automated solution that enables changing and managing product information inside a store in real time by utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology and digital display. It is used to make announcements, guide, provide room and patient information in a hospital, to manage meeting rooms in companies, and also to provide electronic name tags, among others. (End)
