CJ OliveNetworks carries out non-face-to-face volunteer activities at welfare institutions before the Chuseok holiday

[CJ OliveNetworks, September 16, 2021] CJOliveNetworks (CEO Cha In-hyeok) held a Standing Together Non-face-to-faceHangawi Feast to share love and warmth of the nation’s biggest holiday,Chuseok, with affiliated welfare organizations. 

 

This event was intended to provide holiday mealsand hope to neighbors in need who are having more difficulties due to decreased volunteers or sponsorship after the COVID-19 outbreak.

 

The company delivered Chuseok foods such as songpyeon, sweets, sikhye, large rice cakes, and fruit locally grown or made to six social welfare institutions that it sponsors including Hyesimwon, Yeomyeong School, Galwol Social Welfare Center, and Hyochang Social Welfare Center. The Chuseok refreshments will be served to a total of 550 people including preschool children, North Korean defectors, people with developmental disabilities, and the elderly in vulnerable groups. 

 

The company’s 500 executives and employees participated in the untact volunteering to recommend or create good quotes about hope, such as maxims, poems, and drama lines. The selected quotes of hopes and dreams went through professional calligraphy work to make about 500 bookmarks and were delivered to neighbors along with the Chuseok food. 

 

“We wanted to share the warmth and love of Chuseok with our neighbors in need during the holiday where face-to-face volunteering is difficult due to COVID-19. We will continue various volunteer activities that can help in a non-face-to-face manner even if we cannot visit them in person,” said Baek Jae-min, managing director of CJ OliveNetworks.

 

CJ OliveNetworks executives and employees have voluntarily participated in various non-face-to-face volunteer activities, such as creating e-books for the visually impaired and volunteering using mobile apps to help environment since last year when the COVID-19 started spreading.
