CJ OliveNetworks Signs MOU with Hanyang University for Stimulating Youth Startups

[CJOliveNetworks = 2016/11/08] Last November 8, CJOliveNetworks (CEO Kyung-bae Lee) announced that it signed an MOUwith Hanyang University (President Yeong-mu Lee) to facilitate the training of start-up entrepreneurs of the future.

 

The signing ceremony was attended by 10 executive-level personnel from both parties: Kyung-baeLee, CEO of CJ OliveNetworks; Hee-kyung Min, Director of CJ Corporate Social Responsibility Group; Jae-won Jeong, CJ OliveNetworks Fusion Growth Team Director; Jun-sik Park, IT Development Director; Cheong-su Kim, Administrative Support Center Director; Yeong-mu Lee, President of Hanyang University;Tae-hyeon Seong, Director of LINC Project Group; Seong-hun Jung, Cooperative Ventures Department Director; Jin-ho Ahn, Academic?Industrial Cooperative Group Director; and Chang-wan Ryu, Global Business Center Director.

 

Major agendas on the MOU include ▲ the sharing of the start-up network and infrastructure; planning and operating programs designed to disseminate the start-up culture; and ▲ building policy grounds for facilitating challenges and start-ups. Based on this setup, CJ OliveNetworks will cooperate with Hanyang University and the Center for Creative Economy and Innovation to plan and operate the StartupCompetitiveness Certification.

 

Last October, CJ OliveNetworks opened HUBPOT, an online platform designed to support young start-ups. Through the HUBPOT program, CJ OliveNetworks hopes to provide a data base-like system in which the experiences and activities of youth entrepreneurs can be managed systematically. In turn, Hanyang University will work toward building acooperative committee with the Center for Creative Economy and Innovation to ensure the success of the Startup Competitiveness Certification.

 

Both parties have vowed to cooperate closely on future projects such as ▲ building networks between start-ups and start-up clubs in college campuses, ▲ inviting and hosting mentoring programs with startup professionals, ▲ and holding various events aimed at the proliferation of startup projects.

 

CEO Kyung-baeLee of CJ OliveNetworks commented, “We hope to create an environment where the young entrepreneurs of Korea can work freely towards their dreams with enterprise and audacity and thus become a powerful driver of the economy of thefuture. Together with Hanyang University, CJ OliveNetworks will be there tosupport our young entrepreneurs at every step toward becoming their authentic one-person brands.”

 

President Yeong-mu Lee of Hanyang University commented, “In order tovitalize the start-up environment for our young entrepreneurs, it is essential that the enterprising spirit of our entrepreneurs be backed with policy support.This MOA will be the first step toward creating that base. We will not stop atmerely creating new entrepreneurs, but help them become a driving force behind our economy.” (End)
