Supporting Unique Experiences through AR Messaging in “Tous Les Jours”

CJ OliveNetworks has caught the attention of the logistics industry with its augmented reality (AR) messaging service support to CJ Foodville’s “Tous Les Jours” (www.tlj.co.kr) bakery chain.


With the growing attention toward AR technology with the release of “Pokemon Go” in January, CJ OliveNetworks has stepped up to meet the challenge of this new trend, with AR messaging services tailored to consumer needs for the upcoming Valentine’s Day and White Day.


The AR messaging service for Tous Les Jours integrates recognition technology and AR image, the first of its kind in Korea. Users can purchase an item in a Tous Les Jours outlet and send a message through the “Tous Les Jours Play Application.” The recipient can play the AR message through the app by scanning the product.


The message contains a 3-D animation of the lid of the product, followed by miniature heart and chocolate images bursting out of the case and accompanied by quirky sound effects.


The AR messaging service is a break from conventional messaging services based on SMS (short message service) and LMS (long message service), and is expected to offer a new and dynamic option to consumers.


CJ OliveNetworks plans to expand this service to other occasions such as Family Month, KSAT, and Christmas events, and eventually to location-based services or AR games.


The Tous Les Jours Play application can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store.
