- The company will provide a hybrid backup service that supports both private and public cloud environments.

- It includes an archiving function which is connected with an object storage used for a long-term storage of unstructured data.

- Data protection will be reinforced with an increased cost reduction effect by separating service and backup network.

[CJ OliveNetworks = March 2, 2022 (Wednesday)] CJ OliveNetworks (CEO Inhyuk Cha) will introduce CJ BaaS (Backup as a Service), an innovative backup platform service that can be linked with the public cloud.

CJ OliveNetworks has greatly expanded the scope of services such as ▲hybrid backup ▲archiving service ▲data protection, breaking away from the traditional backup, recovery, and distribution-oriented integrated backup service structure in the past.

CJ BaaS, which is capable of hybrid backup, has the advantage of making it easy to transmit and manage global data by supporting both private and public backup environments.

In addition, it provides archiving services by connecting with a low-cost, large-capacity object storage that can store unstructured data for a long time.

This can be used not only for unstructured data, but also for long-term storage data for compliance, large-scale learning data for machine learning, and publicly accessible data requiring web path access.

By separating the service network and the backup network, the data protection function has also been strengthened. CJ BaaS is equipped with a deep learning-based backup data protection function to prevent ransomware and various hacking, and in the event of a natural disaster, it can be immediately distributed to other locations to protect data.

CJ BaaS was first tested for CJ Group affiliates, and cost-effectiveness and stability were secured by introducing deduplication and encryption technology from Veritas, a data security company. In the future, the company plans to expand the business by establishing an accident recovery environment for domestic and foreign sites, strengthening data protection levels, and expanding the scope of service support.

“CJ BaaS is an optimal data protection service to respond to the rapidly changing cloud environment and threats such as ransomware,” said Han Kang-hee, the head of the CJ OliveNetworks team leader of CJ OliveNetworks Cloud Center.
