CJ OliveNetworks has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cisco Korea to expand its GPU-based AI infrastructure business.

Cisco is a global IT leader in networking equipment and security solutions, driving digital innovation across various industries worldwide. Recently, it has been accelerating AI-driven digital transformation by strengthening network automation and cloud management platforms based on AI and machine learning.

As the use of AI enters full swing in fields such as generative AI, autonomous driving, medical image analysis, and hyper-personalized services, the demand for high-performance computing environments is rising rapidly. Investment in AI-dedicated GPU infrastructure?essential for deep learning training and inference?is expanding globally, including in South Korea.

Through this strategic partnership, CJ OliveNetworks and Cisco plan to enhance their competitiveness in the AI infrastructure and services market by leveraging their respective business strengths, ensuring successful AI environment transitions for their customers.

Key areas of collaboration include: Phased adoption of new AI technologies in computing, networking, and security; Joint development of AI infrastructure architectures; Development of collaborative service models and joint project execution.

Notably, the two companies will co-develop a Cloud AI End-to-End Infrastructure Service Model based on Cisco's high-performance GPU servers. This model will cover the entire establishment steps?from development and operations to security and monitoring. By combining their technical expertise, the companies aim to provide an optimized infrastructure for AI model training, improve efficiency through operational automation, and implement robust security and monitoring functions.

In addition, CJ OliveNetworks will internalize Cisco's AI solutions?including AI Defense, SASE (Secure Access Service Edge)/SSE (Cisco Secure Access), and AIOps?to lead the optimization of customer AI environments.

Through this collaboration, the two companies expect to create an ecosystem of infrastructure optimized for AI computation and industry-specific AI solutions. This is anticipated to serve as a turning point in providing tailored AI infrastructure services while enhancing overall service quality and reliability.

The signing ceremony was attended by In-sang Yoo, CEO of CJ OliveNetworks; Dave West, President of Cisco APJC (Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China); Ji-hee Choi, Managing Director of Cisco Korea; and other key officials.
