CJ OliveNetworks participated in global environmental protection by sponsoring integrated ticket solutions for the 20th Seoul International Eco Film Festival hosted by Korea’s Green Foundation.

As Korea's first public trust specializing in environmental problems, Korea’s Green Foundation is the leading company that takes the initiative in global environmental movement and supports corporate ESG management in Korea. The Seoul International Eco Film Festival, held by Korea’s Green Foundation, is held every June in commemoration of the World Environment Day and is widely known as Asia's largest and one of the world's top three environmental film festivals.

In particular, by showing various films on environmental issues free of charge, it is sharing thoughts on the coexistence of the earth and human beings and expanding sympathy for creating a sustainable earth.

Over the past 10 years, CJ OliveNetworks has been providing differentiated services by establishing an online and offline ticket reservation system and supporting a stable operation for various events such as the 8 major international film festivals in Korea and the Asian Games.

CJ OliveNetworks agreed with the purpose of this year’s Seoul International Eco Film Festival and decided to sponsor the integrated ticket solution. It is characterized by having added a donation payment function in addition to a general ticket reservation function so that donations for environmental protection can be paid at the same time when purchasing movie tickets.

By issuing mobile reservation tickets instead of paper tickets, it is expected that unnecessary paper printing can be reduced through the reduction of the amount of paper that is used and wasted and to provide opportunities for eco-friendly practice.

There are a total of two types of tickets that can be donated at the Seoul International Eco Film Festival ? a ‘ticket that becomes a tree’ and a ‘plogging ticket’ ? and each is priced at 10,000 won.

If you purchase a ticket that becomes a tree, it will be used for planting honey plants from which bees can obtain honey, and purchasing a plogging ticket will be used for a global environment campaign for picking up trash in the surroundings.

In addition, CJ OliveNetworks' executives and employees will participate in the ‘BYE BUY PLASTIC MARKET’ held in Seoul Forest on June 3 and 4.

Bye-bye Plastic Market is an eco-friendly flea market with a zero-waste concept, where executives and employees bring and sell unnecessary clothing, home appliances, and household items, and plan to donate all proceeds to the environmental foundation.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring an integrated ticket solution for the Seoul International Eco Film Festival, which celebrates its 20th this year,” said Nam Seung-woo, head of the SaaS Business Team at CJ OliveNetworks, “By having added a donation payment function to the existing ticket reservation system, it will be able to increase carbon neutrality and improve donation accessibility through non-issuance of paper admission tickets.”

CJ OliveNetworks plans to continue to participate in film festivals or performances held with themes for the public interest, such as animals, environment, women, and the disabled in the future as part of its ESG management.
