CJ OliveNetworks completed the establishment of D'Live FAST service
- The company supports development of the
new OTT service FAST application and content distribution for D’Live, the
largest cable broadcasting company in the metropolitan area
- Years of experience in the establishment
of broadcasting media system and management capabilities for content operation are
both highly evaluated
- The service is expanded from the current
broadcasting media SI to value-up business for content such as content
sourcing, programming, and operation
CJ OliveNetworks is expanding its broadcasting media business by supporting the launch of an
ad-based free streaming service (FAST) to D'Live, a cable TV
business operator.
D’LIVE, the largest cable broadcasting
company in the metropolitan area, introduced the OTT box ‘D’Live OTT’v’ for the
first time in cable TV in 2016, and it is strengthening its competitiveness in content
by installing major OTT services such as Netflix, Wave, and Coupang Play.
Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (hereinafter
referred to as “FAST”) is an OTT service that allows consumers to enjoy
real-time channels and VOD content for free instead of watching advertisements.
With the continued fatigue of subscriptions
and the burden of subscription fees that consumers have to pay to view content
scattered across multiple services due to the recent increase in content
platforms, FAST services are newly spotlighted to target these niches.
CJ OliveNetworks provides customized
transmission services for broadcasting channel operators based on years of
experience in building and operating broadcasting media systems. The
establishment of the new D'Live FAST service was also highly evaluated for its
stable technical know-how in media and distinctive content operation and
management capabilities.
CJ OliveNetworks supported content value-up
services such as content sourcing, organization and operation, as well as
development of the back and front end of the FAST service application which was
launched in the D'Live OTT box.
This is meaningful in that it provided
expansion, content processing, storage, and transmission in SI orders for
broadcasting media, which was a traditional business field.
The D’Live FAST channel provides 10
channels including ‘D’Live TV’, a local real-time broadcasting channel, popular
animation ‘Larva’, ‘Channel China’, and ‘Health TV.’ It plans to expand to 20
channels by the end of the year.
“The FAST industry, which has been operated mainly by existing TV manufacturers, is expanding to various genres and channels to suit consumers content tastes,” said Shin Bong-ho, Manager of Media Platform at CJ OliveNetworks. "We will actively support the successful operation of D'Live's FAST service through CJ OliveNetworks' IT technology and contents management know-how in broadcasting media.”
